Polaris launches 'Indian' bikes at Rs 26.5 lakh

Polaris India, a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based Polaris Industries Inc, on Wednesday launched its iconic motorcycle brand 'Indian', priced between Rs 26.5 lakh and Rs 33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Indian, which is the oldest US motorcycle brand, will compete in India with the likes of Harley Davidson and the recently launched British superbike brand Triumph . Polaris India has launched three models under the Chief range-Classic, Vintage and Chieftain, priced at Rs 26.5 lakh, 29.5 lakh and Rs 33 lakh (all ex-showroom Delhi).

The superbike maker has started taking orders for the three bikes from 22 January 2014 and will start the delivery from March.

Sporting a powerful 1,811 cc engine, the three bikes under the Chief range come with various luxury features including ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition and aluminium frame.

The Vintage range of Indian bikes delivers an incredible 119 ft-lbs of torque and features styling that pays tribute to legendary Indian Motorcycle engines of the past.

The Chieftain range of Indian bikes allows you to raise and lower the power-adjustable windshield with the push of a button to customize airflow and protection. The backrest's quick release technology lets you install or remove the entire backrest in seconds - without tools!
