Vine, the
Twitter-owned video app for creating loopy videos, was updated earlier this week for the iOS with new tools for shooting, sharing, and discovering 6-second clips.
This is the biggest update from the app till date for iOS users. The new update can be downloaded from
the App Store.
The application, which has more than 13 million registered users and has direct
competition from Instagram, now lets people on iOS capture video bits with handy camera tools such as a grid, a focus option, and a ghost button for viewing a transparent overlay of your previous shot.
Also included in the update are 15 new channels ranging from comedy to cats where you can submit your videos and a new "On the Rise" section that highlights Vine videos going viral on the service.
Vine has added its own version of retweet too. By clicking on 'revine', people can repost a video to their followers. There is an update to privacy settings too that allows you make your Vine videos visible only to your followers.
Vine has announced that an Android release with the same features is slated for next week.
