- Huawei P40 and P40 pro smartphones are set to launch on March 26
- The smartphone will be Huawei's flagships for 2020
- The design of the upcoming flagships have leaked ahead of launch
Chinese phone maker Huawei is currently caught in the midst of an ugly trade war between the United States and China that has seen its right to use Google services such as Google Play and Google Drive being revoked.
However, this appears to have not affected the company's plans to launch its new flagship series for the year, the Huawei P40.
The company is expected to take the lid off the P40 and P40 Pro on March 26, and ahead of the series' launch, the P40 Pro's design has been leaked on the web. The leak comes of Slashleaks which gives a good idea of what the phone could look like.
The leaked images reveal some key information about the device, including the fact that the phone comes with a curved screen and a big punch-hole cut-out for the front facing cameras. In fact, the punch-hole shown in the images is exactly like what has been speculated for the device in the past, as there's space for two cameras. The other big revelation the leaked image makes is that the device will come with a curved display.
While the leak doesn't share much else, another leaked hands-on video, this time by Digital Trends has revealed information about the design of the Huawei P40.
The video shows what the publication claims to be an early prototype of the phone with a glass body with blue finish and a thick frame, which could be a hint at a big battery underneath. While not disclosing actual numbers, the report does go on to suggest that the battery could easily dwarf the one found on previous generation flagships such as Huawei P30 and Mate 30.
The leaked images of the device also reveal a triple camera setup on the back, with one of the lenses appearing to being a periscope zoom one. This is also in line with previous leaks about the device. Apart from this, a recent TENAA listing surfaced last month claimed the phone will bring with itself 5G-capability and dual-SIM card slots.
