Apple launches iPhone SE for Rs 39,000; to be available in early April

The smaller, 4-inch iPhone is now official. Apple , during the Loop you in event acknowledged the demand for a smaller iPhone, and has launched the iPhone SE boasting a 4-inch display. The company claims to have sold 30 Million 4-inch phones last year itself.

While the iPhone SE borrows looks from the iPhone 5S, it shares the innards of the recently launched iPhone 6S.

"iPhone SE is an exciting new idea - we started with a beloved, iconic design and reinvented it from the inside out. The result is the most beautiful and powerful phone with a four-inch display in the world," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

It features a 4-inch Retina display and the TouchID on the home button. It is powered by 64-bit A9 chipset with M9 motion coprocessor, 12 MP iSight camera with Live photos and 4k videos. Apple claims to have added longer battery and faster wireless connectivity.

While the pre-order of the iPhone SE begins on March 24 and goes on sale on March 31, India is still not in the first launch phase. However, Indian audience will not have to wait for long as the iPhone SE will be available in India in early April itself.
 
iPhone SE will be available in space grey, silver, gold and rose gold metallic finishes in 16 GB and 64 GB models with the starting price of Rs 39,000. The company has not revealed the price of the 64 GB variant but it should be priced somewhere around Rs 48,000.
