Samsung launches J7 Prime with 8MP front camera and 3GB RAM

Samsung has launched a new entrant to mid-range phonesegment. The new Galaxy J7 Prime will be an upgraded version of the older J7(2016), Galaxy J7.

Last week, the South Korean tech-giant had announced that it will be launching aJ-series smartphone in India.

Since the J7 Primehas been available in Vietnam since last month, it is likely to start selling in the Indianmarket before the end of September. The device has been launched at a best-buy priceof Rs 18,790.

The Galaxy J7 Prime will pit against the likes of Xiaomi RedmiNote 3 and Moto G4 Plus in the mid-range segment.

The J7 Prime will get an upgraded FullHD display incomparison to the HD display on the J7 and a better front-facing snapper with aresolution of 8Megapixel in comparison to the 5Megapixel snapper on the olderversion.

In terms of performance, the Prime-device will house anextra gig of RAM in comparison to the 2GB found on Galaxy J7 and 32GB ofinternal storage as compared to 16GB on the previous version. The device will alsohouse a MicroSD card slot to expand memory up to 128GB.

The phone will support Dual-SIM and will come with Android6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The FullHD(1920x1080) IPS display will becovered with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The Galaxy J7 Prime will feature a 13Megapixel rear facingcamera and a 8 Megapixel front facing snapper. The device will be powered by1.6GHz octa-core processor which is assisted by 3GB RAM.

Apart from that, the device will also come equipped with afingerprint scanner on the home button and it will derive its power from a 3300 mAh battery.
