With the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2011, ESPN has introduced a cricket widget exclusively for the Nokia N8 users. Aimed to offer latest news and updates on the home- screen itself, this ESPN Widget is a mini-web based application that pushes updates directly. Available free of cost from Nokia Ovi Store, once installed one can also switch off the widget when not needed.
Although, there is no subscription fee involved, one will end up paying data charges (GPRS). Other than score updates, it will bring live news feeds, scores and ball-by-ball text commentary, statistics and expert comments, schedules and standings, points and video clips using this application.
Jasmeet Gandhi, head - services & devices OPM, said, "The entire nation is abuzz with the World Cup fever and we are happy to be associated with ESPN to reach out to our cricket-loving consumers. The widget will enable cricket lovers to stay on top of their game, providing them with live news feeds, scores, video clips and much more. We will continue to engage with our consumers with services and information relevant to them providing them an enriched mobile lifestyle."
