Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched the HP DreamScreen: a touchscreen-based all-in-one PC in India. The company, however, refrains from calling it a PC, but an innovative digital device.
The 18.5-incher is powered by Intel processor and is aimed at making technology easily accessible and useable for people not well-versed with the technology.
Boasting of HP's icon-based, touch-enabled intuitive interface, which brings a host of latest services to the users' fingertips, the DreamScreen comes across as a simple yet intelligent solution for first time users.
It comes with a built-in 250 GB memory, DVD player, stereo speakers, 1.3 mega pixel webcam, SD card slot, and microphone. And can be used to get access to the most-relevant content, affordably through the Internet-like education, video chat, music, movies, news, browsing, temple darshan and much more.
HP has collaborated with leading, best-in-class Indian content and service providers to create an immersive experience for its users. These include companies like Airtel and Tata Teleservices for providing Internet connectivity options, Apalya for Darshan, Music Today for Music, NDTV for news and Daily Astrology, India Today for media content, Tata Communications for Live Darshan and Yatra for booking Air and Train travel.
It will be available across 700 outlets across 60 cities in the country at a special price of Rs 19,999 (plus taxes) from November 25th. Users get the option to choose between Hindi and English language support. Support for other Indian languages will be rolled out soon.
