Land acquisition, GST bills referred to special panels for review

While the Land Acquisition Bill is likely to be referred to a joint committee of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the Goods and Services Tax Bill will be sent to a Rajya Sabha panel.

GST Bill to be taken up in Rajya Sabha today

The government on Wednesday passed the key economic reform GST regime in the Lok Sabha. However, it will face the Opposition hurdle when the legislation will be taken up in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

The Congress, rejuvenated by the return of Rahul Gandhi, is in no mood to give the BJP-led NDA government an easy time on the economic reform bill.
