Hero MotoCorp to set up parts hub in Rajasthan

Hero MotoCorp will set up a gobal parts centre at Neemrana in Rajasthan with an initial investment of Rs 160 crore.

Hero MotoCorp's new facility will be spread over 35 acres and is expected to be operational in the third quarter of the next financial year (2013-14). Hero MotoCorp's new centre will initially employ 400 personnel.

The global parts centre will have automated storage and retrieval system, automated packaging and sorting system, and an on-line tracking of parts system through warehouse management system.

The proposed Global Parts Centre comes close on the heels of Hero MotoCorp announcing an investment of over Rs 2500 crore in setting up two new plants, expanding capacity at existing plants and in building an integrated R&D centre (at Kukas in Rajasthan).
