India’s aviation regulator DGCA is reviewing power bank rules after the recent IndiGo fire incident raised fresh concerns over lithium-ion battery safety on flights. While there is no ban yet, officials are studying global regulations as countries like South Korea and Japan tighten norms after multiple onboard battery-related incidents. The DGCA had already restricted charging phones using power banks during flights earlier this year, but rising cases are now pushing authorities to consider stricter measures.
