A father’s grief has turned into a quest for justice. 91-year-old Pushkaraj Sabharwal, father of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, one of the pilots killed in the Air India Flight AI-171 crash, has approached the Supreme Court seeking an independent probe into the tragedy. After reports surfaced hinting at pilot error, the court clarified that the preliminary AAIB findings do not hold the pilots responsible. A bench led by Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi assured the grieving father — “this was not his burden to carry.” The court also cautioned against misreporting and said allegations must be raised before the proper forum.
