Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly announced India’s remarkable achievement — the successful launch of the Made-in-India 4G stack. With this milestone, India has joined the select group of five nations in the world capable of developing and deploying such advanced telecom technology. The Prime Minister highlighted how this innovation marks a bold stride towards digital self-reliance and technological independence. On the very day of the launch, nearly one lakh 4G towers were activated across the country, bringing over two crore citizens — including those in remote and previously unconnected regions — into India’s digital network. PM Modi emphasised that this indigenously built 4G and 5G stack will not only ensure faster and more reliable connectivity but also strengthen India’s position as a global technology leader. He further noted that the 4G stack is export-ready and will pave the way for India’s 6G vision by 2030, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and global digital leadership.
