Rubaiya Sayeed Case Twist: CBI Arrests Shafat Shangloo, Jammu Court Orders Immediate Release

Over 35 years after Rubaiya Sayeed’s 1989 kidnapping, the CBI arrested Shafat Ahmed Shangloo, calling him an absconder who allegedly conspired with Yasin Malik. But a Jammu court rejected the CBI’s custody plea and released him. Shangloo and his lawyer maintain he was never absconding and had earlier been cleared. He says he was picked up after being called to a police station for routine queries.
