After three days of talks in Florida between Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and a Ukrainian delegation led by Rustem Umerov, the White House unveiled a new national security strategy signalling a major policy shift. The 33-page document warns Europe faces “civilisational erasure,” notes Europeans see Russia as an existential threat, but pointedly avoids calling Moscow a threat to the U.S. The Kremlin welcomed the tone but said it would “monitor implementation.” Meanwhile, President Zelenskyy met leaders in London to discuss the latest peace plan, calling earlier talks with U.S. envoys “constructive but not easy.” Trump said he was disappointed Zelenskyy hadn’t read the proposal yet. The strategy also elevates India as a key Indo-Pacific partner and proposes a military “readjustment” in the Western Hemisphere.
