Speaking at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasised that a rising India must articulate global affairs through its own history, terminology, and strategic perspectives. Addressing complex geopolitical challenges including ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Gulf, Jaishankar highlighted India's strategy of balancing relationships and optimizing responses rather than adopting black-and-white positions. He noted that India’s diplomatic approach, centered on energy security, supply chain resilience, and protecting the diaspora, relies on continuous internal debate. He urged institutions like ICWA to build an authentic Indian narrative to guide the nation's growing global responsibilities.
