BJP Mahila Morcha Protests Nationwide Over JNU Harassment Row, Targets Rahul Gandhi

The BJP Mahila Morcha has staged protests outside Congress offices in several cities, including Delhi, Guwahati, Ranchi, Patna, Shimla, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, demanding action over sexual harassment allegations against JNU professor and Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam. The BJP has questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence, citing his “Smash the Patriarchy” campaign, while BJP leader Smriti Irani has also targeted the Congress leader. According to the report, JNU’s Internal Committee investigated complaints by 11 women students, leading to Akoijam’s dismissal from the university. Akoijam has denied wrongdoing. The allegations and findings have triggered a political confrontation between the BJP and Congress.
