Indian-origin NASA astronaut Anil Menon has arrived at the International Space Station aboard Russia’s Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft, beginning his first spaceflight and an eight-month orbital mission. Menon launched from Kazakhstan with Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina before docking with the station’s Prichal module after a three-hour journey. During Expeditions 74 and 75, the emergency medicine physician and US Space Force colonel will support research involving semiconductor crystal production, AI and augmented-reality-assisted ultrasound, blood-flow changes in microgravity, and bioprinted vascular structures. The studies could strengthen medical care and technology for future human missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
