Ram Mandir Donation Row: Rahul-Kharge Demand Probe, Opposition Targets Govt In Parliament

Ahead of Parliament’s Monsoon Session, the Opposition is preparing to target the government over the alleged theft of donations at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking an independent high-level investigation and public disclosure of the temple trust’s accounts. Eight people have been arrested as police widen the probe into alleged cash theft, asset purchases and security lapses. Investigators are questioning Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu and Manish Yadav. The temple trust’s July 22 meeting is expected to discuss its first full-time CEO, internal committees and the investigation’s findings and reforms.
