India Today-CVoter’s latest Mood of the Nation survey has triggered fresh political debate in Tamil Nadu, with Chief Minister and TVK leader Vijay ranking No. 3 in the national PM preference race, behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. Vijay is still months into his first stint as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, but TVK leaders have already projected him as a potential PM face for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. The survey ranking has also exposed tensions with alliance partner Congress, which has reportedly called for support for Rahul Gandhi as its PM choice. Meanwhile, MDMK chief Vaiko backed the Congress position, while the DMK mocked the pitch.
