Interim Rail Budget: 17 premium, 39 express trains announced

Railway Minister  Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday announced 73 new trains including 17 premium trains, 39 express trains and 10 passenger trains. Here is the list of  premium and express trains that have been proposed in the Interim Railway Budget.

Mallikarjun Kharge presents no-frills interim rail budget

Railways minister Mallikarjun Kharge announced that 73 new trains will be introduced during 2014/15 across premium, express and passenger train categories. He also proposed 19 surveys to be taken up in 2014/15 for new lines.

Interim Rail Budget 2014: 'Meghalaya, Arunachal to be brought on railway map'

Rail stocks fall in absence of major announcements in Interim Budget

While stock of Kalindee Rail Nirman (Engineers) was trading lower by 1.96 per cent, Titagarh Wagons fell 1.23 per cent. Stock of Kernex Microsystems fell 4.04 per cent and Hind Rectifiers fell 6.11 per cent on the BSE at 12: 44 pm.

Railways revenue earnings up 13.34 per cent in April-Dec 2013

The total passenger revenue earnings during April 1-December 31, 2013, were Rs 27,646.10 crore compared to Rs 23,024.26 crore during the like period last year - registering an increase of 20.07 per cent.
