IIT Seat Share

Women candidates also improved their share of IIT admissions. According to the data, 3,814 women secured IIT seats in 2026, taking their share to 20.22 per cent of the total seats allotted.

However, women still accounted for 17.76 per cent of all JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers, indicating that the gender gap in the examination pipeline remains substantial despite the improvement in qualification numbers.
