Taiwan-based global power products major CyberPower has announced its foray into the Indian market, offering everything from power banks for mobile chargers to enterprise level UPS and inverters.
The company, which has its presence in 51 countries, will open four offices in India and will have two warehouses at Kolkata and Mumbai. Ingram Micro will be its channel partner in the country.
Country head Arun Ghosh said the company is different from the other players in the segment as they are focused on just power products. It has a huge R&D team constantly innovating in the space.
"We are looking at a 30 per cent share in the UPS and 40 per cent share in the mobile accessories space. We are targeting a Rs 100 crore turnover this year," he added.
In the domestic UPS space, the company will have to take on well established brands like Sukam and Luminous. But Ghosh said they have a clear advantage in the enterprise segment since their products are unique.
In the fast growing mobile power accessories segment, it will be among the handful of branded players. "We have been working on the India entry for over three years and have our logistics in place," Ghosh added.
The company plans to open 10 offices in Tier II cities next year.
