West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet prominent industrialists in Mumbai on August 1, urging them to
invest in the state.
Several industrialists like Harsh Neotia, Sanjay Budhia, Karan Paul and
ITC chairman Y C Deveshwar are likely to be present at the meet.
The state government has also sent invitations to Mukesh Ambani, Cyrus Mistry and others.
"I am going to Mumbai to meet industrialists tomorrow to seek investments for West Bengal... Mumbai is the financial capital of the country... The approach is
purely for investments," Banerjee said.
The minister would be accompanied by Industry minister Partha Chatterjee, Finance minister Amit Mitra, Housing and Youth Affairs minister Arup Biswas and Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra.
