

With less than two weeks into circulation, Rs 2,000 currency notes were recovered from two terrorists killed in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K police said.
J&K police said that the new Rs 2,000 currency notes could have been sourced locally and investigations are underway.
The encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in a residential area of Hanjan village in Bandipora district of north Kashmir today morning.
According to reports, two terrorists, who were holed up inside a residential area, have been killed. Two AK-47 rifles, with arms and ammunition have been recovered from the killed militants.
Even though the identity of the militants are yet to be ascertained, they are believed to be from Lashkar.
