The 20 km rule comes first
1/5

The concession is for eligible non commercial vehicle owners living within 20 km of a National Highway fee plaza. They must have a valid, functional FASTag. Living nearby is a starting condition; the pass also depends on the plaza meeting the scheme’s rules.

One pass covers one specific plaza
2/5

The local pass is valid only at the specified fee plaza and cannot be transferred to another. Eligible residents can still choose the existing monthly pass. The new annual concession should therefore be assessed against the particular plaza a driver regularly uses.

There are two annual rates
3/5

The pass costs ₹1,500 a year where the toll plaza is outside municipal or local town limits. The rate is ₹3,000 where the plaza is within those limits. The category follows the plaza’s location, so drivers should confirm which annual charge applies.

Some roads are excluded
4/5

The concession is unavailable on highways or expressways using a closed user fee collection system. It will also not be issued where a service road or alternative road is available to commuters. These exceptions can matter even when the distance condition is met.

The app begins a month later
5/5

Eligible toll plazas will offer the annual local pass from November 1, 2026. Access through the Rajmargyatra app is scheduled for December 1. Drivers seeking it in November should check with the eligible plaza rather than expect the app facility to be available immediately.
