The Varanasi–New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper was flagged off on October 31, with regular commercial services scheduled from November 2. The service is identified by train numbers 27421 and 27422 for the two directions.

The timetable is built around overnight travel
2/6

From Varanasi, departure is at 20:50 and arrival in New Delhi at 06:10 the following morning. The return leaves New Delhi at 21:40 and reaches Varanasi at 07:10 the next day, according to the official schedule.

Four intermediate stations are on the route
3/6

The train links Varanasi and New Delhi through Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Aligarh and Ghaziabad. These are the intermediate stops listed for the service, extending the overnight connection to several major centres along the route.

Friday and Saturday are the rest days
4/6

The Varanasi-originating service runs six days a week, excluding Fridays. The New Delhi-originating service excludes Saturdays. The different rest days matter when planning the outward and return legs of a trip.

Three classes have published fares
5/6

Published end-to-end fares are ₹1,915 for AC three-tier, ₹2,470 for AC two-tier and ₹3,030 for AC first class. Fares for intermediate journeys differ, so passengers need to select their actual boarding and destination stations when booking.

The sleeper adds safety and access features
6/6

The official feature list includes CCTV, fire-barrier doors and special berths and toilets for passengers with disabilities. Regenerative braking and an aerodynamic design are also part of the sleeper train’s engineering package.
