Top Bank FD rates: State Bank of India (SBI) has revised interest rates on its domestic bulk fixed deposits of ₹3 crore and above, while Bank of Baroda (BoB) and Canara Bank continue to offer competitive rates on retail deposits below ₹3 crore. For investors comparing where to park their money, the differences become clearer across one-year, two-year and longer-term tenures.

SBI cuts select bulk FD rates

SBI's revised bulk FD rates took effect from August 15, 2026. The bank cut rates by 25 basis points on deposits of 7-14 days, 15-45 days and 46-179 days. Rates for 180-210 days were reduced by 10 basis points.

For bulk deposits of 211 days to less than one year, SBI offers 5.60%, while the highest rate is 6.25% for one year to less than two years. Rates stand at 6.15% for two to less than three years and 6% for three to 10 years. Senior citizens receive an additional 50 basis points across the applicable long-term tenures.

However, SBI has not changed its domestic retail FD rates for deposits below ₹3 crore. For regular customers, rates range from 3.05% for 7-45 days to 6.40% for two to three years. The bank offers 6.30% for three to five years and 6.05% for five to 10 years.

BoB offers 6.75% on 555-day deposit

Bank of Baroda offers 6.25% for one year, two years and three years on domestic deposits below ₹3 crore. The rate rises slightly to 6.30% for deposits above three years to five years.

For investors willing to choose a special-tenure deposit, BoB offers 6.45% on its 444-day Square Drive Deposit Scheme and 6.75% on its 555-day Golden Goal Deposit Scheme, the highest rate among the three banks for regular customers based on the rates provided.

Senior citizens can earn 7.25% on the 555-day scheme.

Canara Bank offers 6.25% on deposits from one year to one year and three months, as well as on two-year, three-year and five-year tenures. Its 444-day deposit carries a higher rate of 6.45%, while the 555-day special-tenure deposit offers 6.60%.

For senior citizens, the 555-day rate rises to 7.10%, while the 444-day deposit offers 6.95%.

For regular investors, BoB's 555-day Golden Goal Deposit Scheme offers the highest rate at 6.75%, followed by Canara Bank's 6.60% on 555 days. SBI's standard retail rates are competitive on longer tenures, but its latest bulk-deposit revision applies specifically to deposits of ₹3 crore and above.

What about senior citizens?

Senior citizens get an additional rate over regular customers at all three banks, although the premium varies by bank and tenure. SBI offers a 50-basis-point premium on its applicable long-term retail FD rates. Bank of Baroda offers higher rates across most tenures, with senior citizens earning 6.75% on one-year deposits and up to 7.25% on its 555-day Golden Goal Deposit Scheme. Canara Bank offers 6.75% on most deposits of one year and above, while its 555-day special deposit offers 7.10%.

Which bank offers the highest rate?

For investors looking at standard one-year deposits, all three banks offer 6.25% for regular customers, making the rates identical at that tenure. Over two and three years, SBI offers a marginally higher 6.30%, compared with 6.25% at both BoB and Canara Bank.

For four- and five-year deposits, SBI and BoB offer 6.30%, while Canara Bank offers 6.25%.

The biggest difference emerges in the special-tenure deposits. BoB's 555-day Golden Goal Deposit Scheme offers 6.75%, higher than Canara Bank's 6.60% for the same 555-day tenure. BoB also offers 6.45% on its 444-day deposit, matching Canara Bank's 6.45% rate for 444 days.
