Fast & Furious 6 rocks Indian box office

Fast & Furious 6 made a smashing debut at the Indian box office, collecting around Rs 21.5 crore in its first weekend.

"'Fast & Furious 6' Thu previews 1.85 cr, Fri 6.02 cr, Sat 6.63 cr, Sun 7.05 cr. Total: 21.55 cr on 1200 screens. Fantabulous!," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a tweet.

Fast & Furious 6, Universal Pictures' sixth installment of its muscle car franchise featuring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, also made a strong debut across the globe. It is expected to pull in $275.5 million worldwide in its first four days. This puts Fast & Furious 6 on track to have the second-biggest opening of the year behind Iron Man 3.

In the Indian market, Fast & Furious 6 benefited from having no big ticket releases during the weekend.
