

Backed by a good a good performance of its Jaguar Land Rover unit, Tata Motors reportedconsolidated revenues of Rs 50,908crore for the quarter ended March 31,2012 - a growth of 44.3 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previousyear.
The consolidated profit for the quarter was Rs 6,234 crore,as compared to Rs 2,638 crore in thecorresponding quarter of the previous year.
At its Jaguar Land Rover unit,revenues for the quarter ended March 31,2012, was at 4,144million pounds, a growth of 51.5 percent over the corresponding quarter last year. Its net profit was at 696million (over Rs 6,000 crore) as compared to 262 million pounds (over Rs 2,380 crore) in the corresponding quarter of lastyear, aided by deferred tax gainsworth 217 million pounds. Jaguar Land Rover sales for the quarter ended March31, 2012,grew 48.2 per cent to 98,021 units, backed by the success of its newly launched RangeRover Evoque model.
The consolidated revenue of Tata Motors for FY 2011-12 wasRs 165,655 crore posting a growth of35.6 per cent over Rs. 122,128 crorein the corresponding period last year. The consolidated profit for the periodwas Rs.13,517 crore, as compared to Rs. 9,274crore in the corresponding period last year.
