Apple launches iPad Pro 9.7 inch, priced Rs 49,900 onwards

It's not just the iPhone SE that was launched at the 'Let's loop you in' event at the Apple's Cupertino headquarters in California. The company has also announced the 9.7inch iPad Pro, which will go on sale in India in early April. With the starting price of Rs 49,900 for 32GB WiFi only variant, the 32GB WiFi + Cellular variant is priced at Rs 61,900. The iPad Pro 9.7inch will be available in two more storage options - 128GB and 256GB and each will have WiFi and WiFi + Cellular option. Apple has not yet revealed the prices of the other variants.

Just like the iPhone SE that packs in the similar specifications as on the iPhone 6s, the iPad 9.7inch boasts with the latest specs as on the 12.9inch iPad Pro.

It packs in a 9.7inch 'True Tone Display' which measures the ambient light and adjusts the color temperature accordingly.  This new display is 40 per cent less reflective over the iPad 2 and is 25 times brighter too. It packs in Apple's latest A9X processor which is paired with M9 motion co-processor and 4GB of RAM. The 9.7inch iPad Pro comes with support for Apple Pencil and has a new Smart Keyboard cover designed to fit the tablet. It boasts a 12MP iSight camera with 4k video recording and LED flash. It runs on iOS 9.3 operating system and the connectivity options onboard include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE.

"iPad Pro is a new generation of iPad that is indispensable and immersive, enabling people to be more productive and more creative. It's incredibly fast, extremely portable, and completely natural to use with your fingers, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. And now it comes in two sizes," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

The new iPad Pro is just 6.1mm thin and weights 500 grams only. It has also got a four speaker audio with built-in sensors for automatically adjusting and optimizing the audio.
