Facebook's iPhone, iPad apps get a facelift

Facebook had recently announced an upgrade to its iPhone and iPad apps, making it easier and faster for keeping up with your friends. The social networking company said that "Facebook 5.0 for iOS is twice as fast as the previous version when launching the app, scrolling through news feed and opening photos in feed".

Facebook has built the new apps from the ground up to make it work faster so that "the app opens much faster and your news feed and notifications load right when you open Facebook."

Facebook stock is down over 50 per cent from its $38 initial public offering price.

On Friday, Facebook shares set a new low after downgrades by analysts pushed it down $1.03, or 5.4 per cent, to $18.06.
