The Xolo X900 looks surprisingly nice for a Lava phone. The 4.03-inch capacitive display with touch keys below is complemented by a metal bezel on all four sides. While the power key and 3.5-mm jack are on the top, the volume control, camera short-cut and micro SIM tray are placed on the right. The battery is non removable and is actually connected to the device with wires. Being the first phone to run Intel's Medfield reference design, the Lava Xolo has been in the news for some time.

It runs the Android v2.3 and has a 1.6GHz processor with 1GB RAM. The web browsing experience was impressive as it managed to load full web pages quickly. But navigating through Google Play and downloading apps was really very slow. The typical Android interface didn't look bad though the icons were very small. Even the onscreen keypad looked small and we often ended up typing wrong alphabets. The 8MP camera was very slow and the results obtained were not impressive. Lastly, when plugged ini for charging, the Xolo X900 heated up so much it was difficult to hold.

BAG IT OR JUNK IT? Performance let down by average piece of hardware.
