Anshul Saigal, CIO & Founder, Saigal Capital Advisors, says his portfolio has recently positioned itself in the CDMO pharma space, identifying what he sees as underappreciated opportunities. Saigal says India currently accounts for only around 4% of the global CDMO market, compared with China’s estimated 50–60% share. He expects even a modest shift in global CDMO activity away from China towards India to have a meaningful impact. According to Saigal, India’s pharma know-how and execution capabilities could support this opportunity, while global companies may increasingly seek to diversify supply chains for critical products. He also discusses how the portfolio has previously benefited from data centres, optical fibre and energy themes. Saigal says the CDMO space could see stronger investor interest going forward.
