Unveiling the manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the BJP's strong stance on Article 370. Addressing the nation, Shah declared that Article 370, which granted special status to the region, is now a part of history and will never return under BJP’s leadership. He criticized the National Conference (NC) and the Congress for allegedly supporting a pro-Article 370 agenda, stating that the provision only fueled separatism and armed the youth with weapons and stones. Shah emphasized Jammu and Kashmir's importance to the BJP since India's independence, highlighting the party's unwavering commitment to keeping the region united with the rest of the country. Reflecting on the state’s troubled past, he blamed separatism and terrorism for destabilizing J&K until 2014. Shah praised the BJP's governance since then, describing the past decade as a "golden period" in the region's history, marking significant progress and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
