Nishikant Dubey: Parliamentary Panel To Summon Meta Over Zuckerberg’s Poll Loss Remark

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who chairs the parliamentary committee on communications and information technology, has announced plans to summon Meta regarding its CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s controversial remarks on the electoral defeat of incumbent governments post-Covid. Dubey accused Meta of spreading misinformation that could tarnish the image of democratic nations, including India. Dubey stated, "My committee will summon Meta over the false information. Misinformation about any democratic country tarnishes its image. The organisation must apologise to the Indian Parliament and its people for this mistake." Reports suggest Zuckerberg remarked that most incumbent governments, including India, faced electoral losses in 2024.
