Delhi witnessed a political showdown as the BJP and the INDIA bloc took out rival marches, each seeking to counter the other's narrative. Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi's prime ministerial ambitions, predicting that he would remain in the Opposition even after 2029. JP Nadda also accused Congress of invoking the 1984 anti-Sikh riots without apologising to the Sikh community. The BJP organised a march in Delhi expressing solidarity with the victims of the 1984 riots, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Hardeep Singh Puri and Manjinder Singh Sirsa participating. In Haryana's Rohtak, BJP president Nitin Nabin flagged off the 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' march. Opposition leaders, meanwhile, defended their protest and rejected the BJP's accusations. With the 'Vote Chori' allegations and the 1984 riots dominating the political exchanges, the battle between the BJP and INDIA bloc spilled onto the streets.
