“Clean Up Your Act”: U.S. Senator Blumenthal’s Warning To India And China Over Russian Oil

U.S. Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal has warned India and China to stop buying Russian oil and gas, saying they should “buy your oil and gas somewhere else” and that “appeasement is not a strategy.” His remarks came after the US House passed legislation that gives President Donald Trump authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on major purchasers of Russian energy under specified conditions. The bill, which has already cleared the Senate, now heads to Trump. Blumenthal also backed stronger economic and military support for Ukraine and said the measure aims to increase pressure on Russia over its war in Ukraine.
