
Fresh scandals have intensified scrutiny of Madhya Pradesh’s healthcare system. Contractual doctor Mahesh Chand Sharma, caught allegedly accepting a ₹5,000 bribe in Shahdol, was later found appointed in Khargone and Sheopur as well, prompting a wider probe. Separately, police uncovered an alleged fake MBBS document network linked to government health jobs. NHM officials said documents of nine candidates were found forged, leading to FIRs and a statewide credential-verification drive. Coming after the “ghost hospital” controversy in Indore, the cases have triggered political attacks and fresh questions over recruitment, oversight and patient trust.
