Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) will observe a ‘Public Transport Day’ every Friday starting June 12, as part of a new initiative to reduce traffic congestion and encourage the use of public transport. The move has been introduced by MMRDA in collaboration with transport authorities and major offices in the business district. Employees working in BKC are being encouraged to avoid using private cars and two-wheelers and instead travel by metro, local trains, buses, or shared transport. Authorities say nearly two lakh people commute to BKC daily, and the initiative aims to ease traffic pressure, improve mobility, and reduce vehicle emissions in the area.
