“UPI In Indonesia”: PM Modi Announces Big Digital Push From Jakarta

PM Narendra Modi highlighted key breakthroughs in India-Indonesia ties during his Jakarta visit. He said both countries are working to strengthen supply chains in critical minerals, steel, stainless steel and rare-earth magnets. A major boost is also expected in digital payments, with India’s UPI set to be integrated with Indonesia’s payment system, making business and travel easier. PM Modi also announced the Prambanan Temple conservation project in Yogyakarta with President Prabowo. He said both nations will mark the Tagore-Dewantara Year of Cultural and Educational Diplomacy, celebrating shared heritage and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s historic Indonesia visit.
