Peacock spectacle
Imagine looking up at the night sky and watching a giant peacock spread its glowing feathers and begin to dance! That's exactly what happened during the Mysuru Dasara Drone Show on October 18. A staggering 3,473 drones came together above the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap to recreate India's national bird. The synchronised formation earned a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial display of a bird formed by drones or multirotors.

Sky transformation
It wasn't just a peacock that stole the show! Thousands of illuminated drones transformed Mysuru's night sky into a moving canvas of colours, creating formations of a butterfly, a lion, the Chakra and Lord Krishna. The breathtaking spectacle blended modern drone technology with traditional Dasara celebrations, turning the sky into a giant stage. Videos of the formations, shared by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, offered a glimpse of the remarkable display.

Indian innovation
Behind the record-breaking spectacle was BotLab Dynamics, an IIT Delhi-incubated company that brought thousands of drones together for an extraordinary aerial performance. Organised by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), the show demonstrated how technology could transform a traditional festival into a global attraction. BotLab Dynamics celebrated the achievement on Instagram, sharing footage of the dancing peacock that secured another Guinness World Records title.

Cultural triumph
Mysuru Dasara has long been celebrated for its royal processions and cultural grandeur, but this year's drone spectacle added a futuristic twist. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar praised the display as an example of tradition embracing innovation and called the Guinness World Record a proud moment for the state. Social media users flooded the videos with congratulations, celebrating a performance that turned India's national bird into a dazzling symbol of Karnataka's creativity.
