Kia India is set to launch the three-row Sorento on September 4, 2026 — marking Kia's first entry into the strong hybrid segment in India. The company has already started accepting bookings, with the SUV expected to be priced from around ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom).

The headline attraction is a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid producing approximately 238 bhp and 380 Nm — Kia's first hybrid in India. The second option is the familiar 2.2-litre diesel from the Carnival, producing 202 bhp and 441 Nm, offered exclusively with an automatic transmission.

The Sorento measures 4,815mm in length, 1,900mm in width and approximately 1,700mm in height, on a 2,815mm wheelbase — making it one of the largest SUVs in its competitive segment and promising genuinely generous cabin space across all three rows.

Inside, the dashboard features dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster. Expected features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a powered driver seat and a premium Bose sound system.

Safety features are expected to include a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, hill descent control, multiple airbags, Level 2 ADAS, heads-up display and terrain drive modes on select variants — making it a comprehensively equipped safety package for its price point.

Boot space is rated at 179 litres with all three rows in use — expanding to nearly 2,000 litres when the rear seats are folded flat. The India-spec Sorento is expected in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations, with captain seats in the second row on higher variants.
