The Tata Punch has emerged as India's best-selling car in June 2026. Tata Motors dispatched a combined 21,006 units of the Punch and Punch.ev — ahead of the Nexon at 18,335 units and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire at 17,899 units.
Available with petrol, CNG and electric powertrains, the Punch caters to a wide spectrum of buyers — from first-time car owners to EV adopters — making it one of India's most versatile volume drivers across every fuel type.
The 2026 Punch gets a new 1.2-litre turbocharged iTurbo Revotron petrol engine producing 120 bhp and 170 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual. Tata claims a best-in-segment power-to-weight ratio and 0–100 kmph in 11.1 seconds.
The 2026 Punch includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital cluster, 360-degree camera, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, integrated air purifier and a premium eight-speaker system.
The Punch's 1.2-litre iCNG powertrain producing 73 bhp and 103 Nm now pairs twin-cylinder CNG technology with an AMT gearbox — making it India's first SUV to offer this combination, while also retaining usable boot space.
The electric Punch is priced between ₹9.69 lakh and ₹12.59 lakh normally, but available under Tata's BaaS programme from just ₹6.49 lakh — with a ₹2.6/km battery subscription and a lifetime unlimited-kilometre battery warranty.
Using a 65kW DC fast charger, the Punch.ev charges from 20 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes. A 15-minute charge delivers up to 135 km of real-world driving range — making it one of the fastest-charging EVs in its segment.
