FDI in retail: Only Rs 196 cr in single-brand retail in 3 yrs
According to Union Minister of State for
Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia, FDI inflows in single-brand
retail during last three-and-half-years was only Rs 196 crore.

Amid controversy over the government's decision to
allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail, Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani on Thursday said the figures for FDI in single brand retail that was allowed long back have
not been encouraging.
Only 4% of India's retail sector organised: CII According to the information given by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia, FDI inflows in single-brand retail during last three-and-half-years was only Rs 196 crore.
Of this, Rs 116 crore was received in 2011, Scindia said in a statement in Vadodara.
