The Justice Shah Commission, appointed to probe into cases of illegal mining , specially of iron ore, has submitted its report to the Mines Ministry, an official said on Thursday.

"The one-man Commission of Enquiry, headed by Justice MB Shah has submitted its report on illegal mining to the Mines Ministry," the Mines Ministry official said.

The official said the Ministry is yet to go through the report and based on its recommendations, steps will be taken.

Last year the government had appointed the commission to probe into cases of illegal mining, specially of iron ore.

The committee in its report on Karnataka has already pointed out a nexus between mafia and traders and politicians.
