Agriculture gets 22% higher allocation

In the Budget 2013-14, Finance Minister P Chidambaram has increased the allocation for ministry of agriculture by 22 per cent to Rs Rs 27,049.

The finance minister said interest subvention on crop loans would continue.

In his budget speech, Chidambaram said though the Wholesale Price Index has been easing, the food inflation remains worrisome.
