Ingersoll Rand has entered the consumer market in India with the
launch of Trane Residential Solutions which will soon sell premium
mini-split air-conditioners and electronic locks, which are interconnected and can be operated with a single remote.
The system is unique for it lets users control all Trane ACs in a household, wherever they are, using a single interactive controller. The same remote also lets them lock the main door and also set usage patterns.
While the ACs, with three to five star rating and in the 1-2 ton range, and the locks can be bought separately as well, the company suggests it is
better to buy the two products together as they can interact with each other through cutting edge wireless technology.
The ACs also have an eye out for power efficiency and energy meter on the remote warn users if extra power is being consumed do to inefficient settings.
There is a Trane mode in the remote using which the system will set the most efficient cooling level based on the temperature outside the room.
The lock can also control the ACs by letting users switch off all the units in the house as they leave or switch on the same as they enter the house. The interactive controller, meanwhile, can lock the door remotely using the night latch mode.
Anyways, the door shuts itself every time you leave the house. The company claims the Electronic FOB Key Access cannot be duplicated.
Ingersoll Rand has not yet announced availability or the pricing of these products. The company, a $14 billion business globally, has been in India for over 90 years, though limited to the B2B space.
