Urbanears headphones are as much about style as they are about audio quality. We had the opportunity of checking out almost their entire range this month.
The more compact of their
headphones, the Bagis is an in-ear design that does not compromise on sound for the sake of being small. The white headphones we tested come with a unique snap construction that lets them plug together back-to-back when not in use. This means you can wear these headphones around the neck when you are not listening to music.
The sound quality is better than you would expect from an in-ear headset. The sleeves fit perfectly inside the ears, keeping out most sounds and let you concentrate on the music. The 9 mm handmade drivers have a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz which is good enough for almost the entire range of music you will have in your phone or iPod. We heard no weird sounds when we shifted from a Jagjit Singh number to Rammstein's Du Hast, both at two ends of the music and frequency spectrums.
This is one piece that will work well for someone who needs music on the go. Yes, there is a remote in case you want to take calls on the phone. The fabric finish cord is good, but we were disappointed that this does not extend beyond the Y. Most probably because this was a white unit and the cord could get dirty from sweat.
Still Urbanears Bagis is a good
headphone option. Buy this if you are style conscious along with being picky about the way you listen to music.
