Realme teased the Narzo name on Wednesday, which led to a plethora of speculations around what this brand name could be. The closest people could get to find out the truth was guessing that Narzo is the upcoming range of clothing lines, which Realme is anticipated to launch. On Thursday, Realme India revealed that Narzo will be a brand new smartphone series in India, putting all the speculation to rest. In an extended form of the video teaser, Narzo has been revealed. While the official announcement says only so much, a 91Mobiles report claims Narzo will take on the likes of Poco and Redmi in India.
Following the first teaser, Realme India has posted a long version of the rap video for Narzo. Going by the video, the smartphone series is likely to be focussed on millennials, which means it could be another mid-range offering from Realme. A poster on the Realme website confirms Narzo will be targeted at Gen Z. The dedicated page on Realme website says that Narzo will be "a complete series with Max performance in the segment."
The report further said that it will be a smartphone series similar to Pro, X, U, and C series in India. Realme Narzo will take on mid-range smartphone series from rival brands, such as Redmi and Poco.
The report has also mentioned, citing sources familiar with the development, that Narzo will launch with two phones initially. The timeline for the launch is, however, not clear. Apart from the fact that Realme Narzo is a new smartphone series and it will initially have two smartphones, nothing else is known at this point. But Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has tweeted that he will reveal more details on Narzo in the coming days.
To recall, Realme recently announced the launch of its Realme 6 series, which includes the Realme 6 and the Realme 6 Pro smartphones. Both smartphones come with a 90Hz display and a quad-rear camera setup. The Realme 6 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T processor while the Realme 6 Pro rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. The Realme 6 starts at Rs 12,999 in India while the bigger sibling Realme 6 Pro is priced at Rs 16,999 onwards. Both smartphones are available to buy on realme.com and Flipkart. Realme is also holding Realme Days sale wherein it is offering discounts on its major phones along with other deals.
