Cockroaches crawling on plates, unhygienic food storage and missing pest-control measures—Karnataka's latest food-safety crackdown has uncovered serious violations across multiple establishments. An exclusive video accessed by India Today shows cockroaches found during a raid at a hotel inside the Vikas Soudha premises. The crackdown has also covered Indira Canteens and warehouses linked to food-delivery platforms. The Gottigere warehouse was sealed over alleged unhygienic handling and storage, along with labelling and misbranding violations. A Zepto facility was also sealed after officials flagged extremely unhygienic conditions. The Karnataka government says inspections will be intensified, while the BJP has accused the Congress government of ignoring food-safety concerns.
